Not familiar with Troy Ave?

Well get familiar because this Brooklyn born-and-bred rapper is here to stay. With his anticipated mixtape “Bricks in my Backpack” killin the streets, it is no wonder why he was invited to perform at OnSmash’s SXSW Showcase. Wanna know more about Troy Ave? Follow him on Twitter: @TroyAve

In the meantime, check out video of his performance. I hate the word swag, but my man definitely got that! #POWDER!

This was definitely  one of the highlights of the night for me because Paul Wall (@PaulWallBaby) literally came outta nowhere. My man has lost so much weight (and looks great) that no one recognized him chillin on the stage until one of his songs came on. This was certainly a treat for the crowd and Paul Wall rocked his “Drive Slow” and “Still Tippin” verses for the OnSmash crowd.

This was by FAR one of my favorite showcases of the week. With over 20 performers from all over the country, HoF (@HofOnSmash)and the good people over at FREEOnSmash did an amazing job putting together this showcase (and of course props to Low (@LowkeyUHTN) for his wonderful hosting skills LOL).

But even I wasnt ready for what was about to go down when Slaughterhouse stepped on stage. The crowd went wild. Bottles (upon bottles) were being popped…and yep…it was an overall good night. So check out footage of the newest members of the Shady/Interscope family performing “Microphone” from their self-titled album, Slaughterhouse.

Big Krit (@BigKrit) (my Mississippi boo but he doesnt know yet), took the crowd by storm at the All Hip Hop/VIBE showcase with his electrifying performance during this year’s SXSW. At one point (not seen on this video), Krit begins to crowd surf and the audience goes wild!!! (*call me Justin — wink wink* LOL)

G.O.O.D. Music Artist, Big Sean (@BigSean), invaded SXSW 2011 with multiple performances, so of course he had to stop through one of the biggest showcases, sponsored by All Hip Hop/VIBE to spit a few bars from his newest single featuring Chris Brown, “My Last.”

Did you think SXSW could go on without Beats & Ballads in attendance?!? Of course not! :)

And I am so happy we did because we got a chance to catch some AMAZING performances…including one of many featuring Ohio native, Stalley (@Stalley). Check out footage of his performance of “She Hates the Bass” from this album, Lincoln Way Nights: Intelligent Trunk Music.

The Park Unplugged: Teedra Moses

Ohhhh how I’ve missed Teedra (@TeedraMoses), and just when I needed a music fix, The Park’s Unplugged Series brought her to town. New Orleans native, Teedra Moses, literally brought down the house as she performed hits from her 2004 “Complex Simplicity” album, and had the crowd singing every word to her latest hit, “R U 4 Real.”
